WorkGroup POE Switch

The POEFE404 is an 8 Port Fast Ethernet switch with 4 IEEE 802.3af compliant POE ports, designed in a robust metal casing small enough to be used in any environment. The switch is designed for Desktop use, but is also supplied with Extension brackets to enable standard 19 inch rackmounting.

Store-and-forward switching technology is used to provide the highest level of reliability and performance for your workgroup LAN applications.

The Alloy POEFE404 switches are simple to install with all ports auto-detecting MDI or MDIX connections. This Auto-detection method enables you to use any port on the switch to connect to your workstation, server, broadband router, or to uplink to another switch - without the need to use a purpose-made crossover cable, or use a dedicated uplink port. Reliability is provided through complete CRC and runt packet filtering. The NWay functionality of the POEFE404 can auto-detect half or full-duplex transmission modes, and 10Mbps or 100Mbps speeds.

PoE allows power to be supplied to end devices, such as Wireless Access Points or VoIP Phones, directly through the existing LAN cables. By supplying power to the end device, you can centralise power distribution without the need to increase infrastructure. The POEFE404 has advanced POE features including, an advanced auto-sensing algorithm enabling PD discovery, classification, current limit, and other necessary functions. It also supports high safety with short circuit protection and power-out auto-detection to PD.
